ClimateSafe Villages
Special guest Lawrence Wollersheim, Executive Director of Job One for Humanity, joins Dr. Peter Carter, Paul Beckwith and Regina Valdez to discuss the ClimateSafe Villages Project.
This video was recorded on July 26th, 2023, and published on July 30th, 2023.
Some of the topics discussed:
- How humanity is not making enough progress to handle climate change without severe unavoidable consequences, which means that any climate program that doesn’t have a climate change preparation, adaptation, and resilience building element is inadequate and dangerous to our common future as humanity.
- How out of this realization came the decision to create the ClimateSafe Villages Project which has years of research invested in what makes intentional communities or villages fail, and what makes them succeed.
- How this work recently culminated in a website emerging and the response to it in terms of people coming from all over the world to join the ClimateSafe Villages Project.
- How the basic concept of ClimateSafe Villages is so simple being about sustainable living combined with climate change resilience building, and survival.
- How the people coming to ClimateSafe Villages are people from all over the world who are generally progressive and intuitively sense that conditions on our planet are going the wrong way and hence feel a need to protect their family and friends.
- How the ClimateSafe Villages model is open source and meant to equip individuals, families, businesses. and communities to become more resilient to make it through the crisis that will evolve as climate conditions worsen.
- How a key insight is that we won’t make it alone.
- and much more . . .
