COP26 Reflections

The Climate Emergency Forum team reflect on their recent participation in COP26, which took place in Glasgow, UK. Paul and Regina participated in panel discussions in the NGO press conference room on various topics pertaining to climate science and solutions. Peter was able to participate remotely, and was also attentively reading and listening to reports pertaining to the UN climate negotiations during the conference.

Charles and Heidi, the production team, join Peter, Paul and Regina to talk about their roles and experience pertaining to planning and supporting the team’s presence at COP26.

• The various aspects of travelling and participating in a UN Conference of the Parties Climate Conference
• The high-level of uncertainty for most of 2021 regarding whether or not the conference would take place in person
• The level of stress as a result of required Covid19 testing and protocols
• International travel during the pandemic

• Challenges faced due to changes in the NGO press conference room schedule
