The response to the climate emergency requires both mitigation and adaptation. Mitigation refers to efforts to reduce or prevent emission of greenhouse gases. Adaptation is the process of adjusting to current or expected effects of climate change. The need for adaptation varies from location to location, depending on the risk to human or ecological systems.

The assembled panel will present various facets of the urgent need for a mitigation and adaptation response, such as regenerative agriculture, restoration of ecosystems, technological innovations, renewable energy, and societal and behavioral changes.
